General information, not legal advice
The articles, guides and service pages on this site explain how Canadian immigration law usually works. They are general information, not legal advice about your situation. Immigration rules change often, and a page can fall behind a change. Before you act on anything you read here, or decide not to act, get advice on your own facts.
When we act for you
Reading this site, sending us a message, emailing us or booking a consultation does not make you our client. We act for you only after we confirm in writing that we will take on your matter, usually through a signed retainer agreement.
If you face a deadline, say so in your first message, and do not rely on us to meet it until we have agreed to act for you.
Consultations
Consultations are booked and paid for online through our booking calendar. The fee, the length of the meeting and the cancellation and refund terms are shown before you pay, and those terms apply to your booking.
A consultation gives you our view on the facts and documents you share with us. Taking on your file afterwards is a separate agreement.
Our content
The articles, text, photos and design on this site belong to Blacksy Immigration Law Firm or to those who licensed them to us. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote a short passage with a link back to it. Please do not copy or republish whole articles, or present our work as your own.
Links to other sites
We link to government pages and other sources so you can check them yourself. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
Limits on our responsibility
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we cannot promise that every page is complete, current or free of errors, or that the site will always be online. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from relying on the general information on this site or from being unable to use it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Any dispute about them belongs in the courts of Ontario, in Toronto.
